The Citrus of Lemon-Trees

Dusk spreads itself thinner
than the visible world.
I can find nothing—
no dirt in a world of dirt
or the hint of a broken horizon.
Without a history in my palm,
I’m isolated.
I’m translucent.
I traveled beyond
and I stayed translucent beyond.
Now parallel to an unexpected downpour
my extremities are kinked,
stuffed first into droplets
and then into molecules.
A whirlpool in the furthest distance
hides its molten interior.
I leave my clothes on
and quell my spikes and edges.
One wrong turn
and the sea is spiritual in its impact,
pulling the future apart with its fingertips.
The distance between my hand
and yours is imaginary.
Follow me to the place where the sun
goes to sleep;
to be lost in the citrus of lemon-trees
isn’t as lost as it seems.
